Sharing the Joy of Passover

During Pesach (Passover), Hebrew Union College - Jewish Institute of Religion (HUC-JIR) in partnership with the World Union for Progressive Judaism (WUPJ) sends students to the Former Soviet Union to share and lead Pesach celebrations in Reform congregations. The students have the opportunity to create inspiring educational programs, lead Passover Seders and song sessions, and take responsibility for everything it takes to make these experiences meaningful for the students, and most importantly, the Jewish communities in the FSU.

This is all made possible by the financial support of family, friends, and the larger Jewish communities. Students raise funds for all aspects of the trip, and without this program, many Reform congregations would not be able to hold Pesach celebrations for their communities. This tremendous opportunity strengthens the connections between HUC-JIR and Worldwide Progressive Judaism, enriches Reform communities in the FSU, and connects students with the rich Jewish heritage found in the Former Soviet Union.

We hope you will support this student led initiative by making a tax deductible donation.
